Billesdon Shines Brightly At Salisbury

A good day at Salisbury yesterday with two winners for Richard Hannon. The first of those was the debutant BILLESDON BESS by Dick Turpin and owned by the Pall Mall Partners. She travelled easily in behind the leader and picked up nicely when asked to quicken up, she was green once hitting the front but won convincingly in the end. ‘She is a very likeable type and i thought coming here today she would need the experience. She was the only horse without experience in the race but she pulled out all the stops late on. She will improve a lot for that run.’

ESTIDHKAAR was having his first run back for 421 days and seemingly looked to travel beautifully in running just showing his lack of match fitness up to the line to finish second. ‘I was very happy with that effort and he looks like there is racing left in him. He travelled nicely but just got tired late on. He will improve plenty for that and so I will have to see what options are available to him.’ KOOL KOMPANY was the other horse who came back from Chris Waller in Sydney and ran a nice fourth. ‘He had to carry a penalty against some likely types but did run well. He would have needed it but I was happy with his effort and feel we can have some fun with him. Dubai is definitely an option for him.’

The final winner was BIGGER AND BETTER in the mile and a quarter handicap. ‘He is a lovely big son of Fastnet Rock and seems to still be improving. He loves this trip and ground and has been in great order. I will see what we do with him as he is in the sales in a few weeks time.’
