BOITRON BLASTS THEM AWAY

Fri 13 July 2018

A double was had last night at Newbury as SERGIO LEONE and BOITRON led the charge. The first was in the Amateur Handicap under Simon Walker for Chelsea Thoroughbreds. The son of Acclamation was dropping back in class having run well on a couple of occasions and never looked in danger last night. He was ridden patiently and stuck on really well under a perfectly timed finish. ‘He is a horse we have always liked and I feel he needs to get back his confidence. This looked the ideal spot and I was glad he could get the job done. He will hopefully go on from here.’

The second winner was Boitron for Middleham Park Racing racing who won in slightly unorthodox circumstances. He missed the break and ended up at the rear of the field. He travelled away nicely but was still detached at half way. He came there strongly under hands and heels and won with plenty in hand. ‘He is a lovely colt who we have always liked. He got a long way back but came there really impressively to win nicely. He is a son of Le Havre and we have had a lot of luck with this stallion. He will continue to progress and so we need to make a plan going forward.’

Today's action comes from five meetings up and down the country and COME ON LEICSTER takes her chance in the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge.
