Classic dreams are alive

What a fabulous day racing we had at Newbury on Sunday.

SNOW LANTERN put up a very smart performance to beat the boys in the one-mile maiden on just her second ever start. Ridden prominently by Sean Levey she cruised into the lead and won in impressive style for Rockcliffe stud. This striking filly has superb breeding - by Frankel and out of our own Sky Lantern - she holds an entry in the Guineas, and it would be no surprise to see her go right to the top.

CHINDIT stamped his claim on the 2000 Guineas by winning the Group 3 Greenham Stakes under Pat Dobbs for Mr Michael Pescod. Given a confident ride from Pat he was held up towards the rear of the field before passing them all to win by a comfortable neck. It was great to see him put the disappointment of the Dewhurst behind him and cement his place in this years 2000 Guineas.

The day was topped off by Highclere Racing's NUGGET winning the spring cup handicap under Ryan Moore. This colt by Siyouni boasts an impressive CV having never been out of the first four. He looks to be improving with age and is an exciting prospect for the season ahead.
