DONCASTER – FRIDAY

2:10 Handicap
Manigordo (Pat Dobbs)

He’s a big strong colt who travels well in this races and this track will suit him as his fourth in the big sales race last year will testify. The ground is drying out all the time which is a big plus and I think he’s much better than a 20/1 shot.

2:40 G2 Flying Childers Stakes
Mohawk King (Frankie Dettori)

He’s got a lots of pace so the drop down to 5 furlongs is in his favour and I don’t think he disgraced himself in the Gimcrack last time. This is a good race but he’s a good horse and deserves to be in the line up.

Ventura Tormenta (Pat Dobbs)
He was ultimately disappointing in the Phoenix Stakes last time so we’ve given him a break to freshen him up and his work has been very good over the last week or so. We always liked him and the drop down to the minimum trip should be in his favour as he’s a colt with a lot of natural speed. He will like the track and I expect him to go very well

3:45 Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes
Thank You Next (Luke Morris)

She’s very quickly developed into a smart filly and has done nothing wrong in all four starts to date. The ground was plenty soft enough for her at Goodwood in a Group Three last time but the ground up there has dried out beautifully which will be a big help. You can never be overly confident in a race of this nature but she’s in good form and will hopefully run a nice race.

Fountain Cross (Pat Dobbs)
He got beaten in what turned out to be a tactical race at Ripon last time and the ground would’ve been plenty soft enough for him as well. He’s a classy horse with plenty of ability and I’ve been very happy with him at home so expect him to go well.

4:15 Maiden
Muay Thai (Pat Dobbs)

We fancied him to go close on debut and he didn’t disappoint when coming from behind to finish his race really well. Dobbsy got straight off and said to step him up in trip and with that run under his belt I’ll be surprised if he’s not capable of running a huge race here.
