Estidhkaar winning the Champagne Stakes

ESTIDHKAAR is making his reappearance today having been off the track for 421 days. He is now a four year old, having started his career in May of his two year old year, taking one run before winning at Newbury in a maiden. He went from there straight up to Group 2 level, taking the Superlative Stakes in impressive fashion. He then took the Group 2 Champagne Stakes beating the very talented War Envoy. He went on to run fourth in the Dewhurst and was put away for the year coming back as a three year old, running a very good second behind Group 1 winning Muhaarar by a quarter of a length in the Greenham. Things didn’t go right after that. ‘He just kept having little niggling issues which allowed us to get him back twice to the races but he didn’t show a huge amount. I have him as good as ever and I really think he should go very close today. Salisbury will give us a good idea as to what to do next.’
