Linda Brings Up The 150

Thu 20 September 2018

The 150th winner of the year was had yesterday courtesy of ENCHANTED LINDA at Beverley bringing up a treble on the day. The daughter of first season sire Charm Spirit managed to bag a good position in running behind the leaders and showed a lovely turn of foot to pick up the leaders and tenaciously held off all challengers. ‘It’s a great team effort to get to this point and I have plenty more to run for the last quarter of the year. She is a sharp filly and will continue to improve. I liked her attitude today and I feel she might be able to get some black type at some stage.’

The first two winners of the day came at Sandown with two impressive colts. FLYING DRAGON came in the second event on the card and was sent forward from an early stage. He travelled well in running and was always doing enough under Tom Marquand. ‘He is a nice colt and seems to be improving all the time. He needed the run at Ffos Las last time and looks to have improved plenty. There are no set plans for him yet but I feel he will develop into a nice horse next year.’

The second winner at Sandown came in the Conditions Stakes where WALKINTHE SAND came from last to first to win with plenty in hand. ‘I have always really liked this horse and he ran well first time out. He improved plenty for that experience and did that well in what was a competitive field. He could be a really nice horse next year and will most likely line up in a Guineas Trial at some stage.’

Action this weekend comes from up and down the country starting tomorrow at Newbury. BEAT LE BON makes his long awaited second start under Ryan Moore and will go off favourite.
