LOOKING BACK TO LINGFIELD

Great Page winning at Naas

Last weekend’s action at Lingfield saw the first major runners of the 2016 season stepping out. Hannon sent out a possible classic trial filly in GREAT PAGE, who had her first up run in the Spring Cup over seven furlongs. Her performance had plenty of merit, getting her head in front with a furlong to go; she just got tired up towards the line. Richard said ‘I am happy that she appears to have trained on, her effort was credible and there are plenty of options for her in the next month’.

Other runners included EMELL and LEXINGTON TIMES, two Saturday horses getting under way. They both appear fresh and well, and ran promisingly again just showing they were a bit ring rusty having been off all winter. Richard mentioned ‘Emell could be a possible contender for the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster in a months’ time. I feel Lexington Times has got a good season ahead of him. He’s back to a winnable mark and will hopefully progress as the season goes on’.

The concluding runner was a lovely New Approach filly called PERFORMER who showed she has plenty of ability finishing second in the maiden. Her pilot Sean Levey said ‘She is a lovely filly in the making. For a filly that’s been off the track for a long time, her performance was impressive. She should find herself in the winner’s enclosure in no time’.
