Hollie lands our first winner of the year on Polymnia

A good start to the year with two winners already on the cards. With only a small number of runners, things are starting to take shape up for 2017. The real work is yet to happen though, so as the winter creeps slowly on, we eagerly await the first turf meeting of the year at Doncaster in early April.

POLYMNIA finally succeeded in getting her head in front under the strong drive from a potential star of the future, Hollie Doyle. Hollie gave her a never say die ride, taking the initiative early on and keeping her momentum up to the line. She has been placed 7 times so definitely deserved to get her head in front. Hopefully this will entice her to keep going on a winning streak.

The second winner came yesterday in PETE SO HIGH for Middleham Park Racing at Wolverhampton. He has been running consistently good in maidens all winter and it was great to see him finally break his maiden. The margins were close but he was convincing enough in the end.

Things are heating up nicely at home with the two year olds ticking along. Today we have 4 runners at Kempton, with a few chances. TOMILY is coming off the back of a break and if he is anywhere back to his last run at the end of the year, he should make a bold showing. TORMENT wouldn't be without a chance in the 4.10 as he's had plenty of runs to get fit now and hopefully can come on again and win today.
