Oh He Does It Again

Mon 03 September 2018

A four timer on Saturday from both Chester and Lingfield. The legend that is OH THIS IS US was back to winning ways having been beaten not very far in a Group 2 the previous week he came back to win a handicap off top weight at Chester. Under Harry Bentley he got into a good position early on and swooped through to take up the lead winning with plenty in hand. ‘He has been such a good horse for the yard and his owners. That was his tenth victory to date and he just keeps going. He seems to love Chester and I will maybe look to see if there is anything else up there for him. He seems to be able to mix it in handicaps and also Listed and Group company.’

The second winner at Chester came with MORDRED who was taking on an odds on shot of Dascombes. The son of Camelot was away well and managed to get into a good position stalking the leader. He moved up strongly on his outside and won well up to the line. ‘I was a bit wary of the favourite but our horse has shown plenty of ability in the past and deserved to get his head in front. These Novice races aren’t easy with a penalty and so we thought we could take on the favourite.’

The four timer was completed at Lingfield with a nice double. RED STARLIGHT won impressively in the fillies handicap for Cheveley Park. She was always to the fore and stretched clear in the closing stages. ‘She is a lovely big filly that takes her racing well. She has kept on improving and we will look into trying to get some black type towards the back end of the year.’

The final winner came from NAUGHTY RASCAL in the colours of Charlie and Julia Rosier. The son of Kyllachy was making his debut. He took a while to get into stride and went wide around the bend but he stretched clear in the closing stages to win going away. ‘I was confident he would run well as he had been showing all the right signs at home. He did that really nicely and so we will look for another race in two or three weeks in a similar grade.’

Today's action comes from Windsor, Ffos Las and Brighton. With 9 runners heading to post there look some decent chances.
