Out Of The Flames Attempted To Light Up Del Mar

Mon 06 November 2017

Just the two runners at Newmarket on Friday and it turned out to be a successful day. The first of those was MAGHAWEER, who is out of Indian Ink and owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum. Under Jim Crowley he was sent forward and never looked like getting caught. ‘He has run very well in some competitive Novice events and I was always confident coming here. He did that well in the end and should be a nice horse for next year.’

The second runner was ALL OUT who was stepping up markedly in class having won two Novice events previously. She was settled in behind the leading group and came with a strong run to get third close to home. ‘She found that ground plenty fast enough but still managed to run well. She is a nice filly for next year and I am glad we could catch some black type before we put her away for the winter.’

OUT OF THE FLAMES ran an absolute blinder in the Qatar Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar on Saturday under Flavien Prat. The Qatar Racing owned filly was away on terms and settled at the rear of the field. Turning for home she came with a powerful surge off a fast pace and got to within a length of the first two to finish third. ‘She has run the best race of her life and really appreciated the ground and fast early pace. She has given us all plenty of fun this year.’

Today’s action comes from Kempton where Richard has two runners in TAI HANG DRAGON and PROCURATOR. The later did well to win last time and heads there with a live chance.
