Saturday Double

Cliffcake

It's a fairly quiet time of year for us runners wise having sent a lot to the sales to make way for our latest batch of yearlings. However we still managed to send out six runners on Saturday and brought home two winners.

At Lingfield CLIFFCAKE stepped markedly up in trip to run over one mile for the first time. Settled nicely at the back under a patient Thore Hammer Hansen he switched out turning into the straight and stormed home to get up in the final strides. Having run consistently all year he was well deserved a win and congratulations must go to his owner/breeder Mr Des Anderson.

Later that evening CITYZEN SERG defied his six pound rise in the handicap to make it two wins in eight days at Wolverhampton for Middleham Park Racing under Sean Levey. He is clearly relishing being back on the all-weather surface and will be a fun horse to have over the winter.
