Son Of The Stars Shines Bright

Wed 19 April 2017

We have had another busy weekend of racing with the team bringing home 7 winners from 19 runners. The horses are in good form as we head into Craven and Greenham week and there are some nice progressive types leading the way.

SON OF THE STARS shined on Thursday at Chelmsford under Ryan Moore. ‘He is a lovely type that won impressively on debut at Kempton over the winter and has confirmed what we think of him. He appears to be a very progressive horse and could be one we see in black type races very soon.’

Friday was a very valuable card at Bath with OH THIS IS US and HUSHOOD bringing home prizes in the richest races. The former has been a consistent stalwart for the team and running second on his last start in the Lincoln was a grand performance. ‘He keeps on improving and there are a few options leading forward for him including a step into Listed Company. He has won six races over two years and still appears on the up.’ Hushood won nicely for Hamdan Al Maktoum in the three year old stayer’s event under a fine ride from Tom Marquand who kept on winding him up right up to the line.

A nice treble on Saturday headed by KHAFOO SHEMEMI followed up by two from Brighton in the shape of ENDEAVOUR and TAFAAKHOR. ‘Another smashing day and our winner at Kempton couldn’t have done it any easier. He has been working well at home with some of our likely Guineas hopefuls and I am glad he could confirm his well-being. Endeavour finally looks to be getting the hang of things and Tafaakhor has had plenty of chances and deserved to get his head in front.’

An impressive maiden winner on Monday saw MOSTAHEL win easily under Frankie Dettori. ‘He was second behind a likely type at Leicester on his last start and showed the necessary improvement again. He has the potential to be a good horse.’

With two seconds yesterday hopefully today will go that little bit better. STEEL OF MADRID makes his way back in the Earl Of Sefton and appears in rude health. ‘He has been working well and if he brings his best form to the table he should run a lot better than his price suggest. MAJESTE is having his first start back in the Free Handicap and looks off a nice weight. He looks to have improved over the winter and I think he will be right there.’ A daughter of SWISS SPIRIT leads up the charge in the two year old race called ON A ROLL. ‘She has been working well and I would expect her to come on plenty for the experience.’
