The Grape Escape Returns At Sandown

Mon 18 September 2017

THE GRAPE ESCAPE was a cosy winner at Sandown on Friday under Sean Levey. The John Manley owned colt was having his first run back from a break and won in impressive style. ‘Sean gave him a lovely patient ride and he didn’t have to pick up his stick in the closing stages. I would say he won with plenty I hand. We have always thought plenty of the horse and I feel that he is finally coming to himself. He is a big horse and will make a lovely four year old. We will come up with a plan in the coming days as to what we do this year but he is a Group horse in the making.’

OWER FLY brought about another success on Saturday under Hollie Doyle for Tony and Jane Pitt. He was away well from the stalls and never looked like getting beat for the entire race. He travelled very easily on that ground and put the race to bed early on in the piece. ‘He loves that ground and Hollie gets on with him very well. He has won well today and is a horse we can continue to have fun with. He is a homebred and has given his owners many happy days.’

Today’s action comes from Brighton with two runners heading to post.
