Mon 02 July 2018

VITAMIN managed to get her head back in front in impressive style at Newmarket and a smart juvenile winner in the shape of MASARU making his debut at Windsor.

Every runner from the Richard Hannon stable on Saturday managed to finish in the first four and two of those got their heads in front. Vitamin was having just her third start this year having ran in the Guineas in May. The daughter of Camelot has some strong form behind her and having just her second run on Handicaps at the scene of the crime she won with plenty in hand under Hayley Turner for her owner Mr Hussain Alabbas Lootah. ‘I was very impressed with how she went about her business and she looks like she is back in the form she was at the end of last year. She looks progressive so we can look at races in a few weeks time at the July meeting for her.’

The other winner was MASARU who was making his racecourse debut for owners Jonathan Palmer- Brown and Mick Daniels. The son of Lethal Force was always to the fore and asserted in good style up to the line. ‘I was very impressed with the manner in which he got the job done and I feel he will improve a huge amount for the experience. There are no plans quite yet but whether he heads to another Novice or we step him up we will see.’

Today's action comes from Windsor, Wolverhampton and Pontefract. WEDDING DATE takes her place in the Conditions race up north, WATER DIVINER should go very close at Wolverhampton after his second placing and the two in the first at Windsor have both got form to win a race like that.
