An international flavour was had last weekend with runners not only in England but across the Channel in France. Three horses were sent over and they all came home with some decent prizemoney. The first of those was OH THIS IS US in the Group 2 Prix Wildenstein under Christophe Soumillion in the saddle. He came from a long way back to nab second on the line and was unlucky not to get closer. ‘I was very happy with his effort and he seems to keep on improving this horse. The leaders stole a march on us but he stuck on really well up to the line. The plan could be to head to Italy as he does taking his travelling really well.’

The other two runners came on the Sunday with STAR TERMS in the Group 1 Marcel Boussac and BOITRON in the Jean-Luc Lagardere. Both ran very creditably especially the filly who was third beaten under half a length. ‘Star Terms is very gutsy and ran a cracker to finish third. She didn’t have much luck up the straight but once she got out she battled tenaciously. The plan will be now to put her away and head to the Guineas next year. The colt Boitron got too far back off a slow pace but did stay on really well in the closing stages. We will sit down and have a good think what to do next with him.’

On the home front TABARRAK managed to bag yet another Valuable Listed prize for Hamdan Al Maktoum. The son of Acclamation at the grand old age of 5 continues to run well at this level. ‘I have a lot of time for this horse as he keeps on pulling these results out the bag. He has been a great servant and should continue into next year.’
The double on Saturday was brought home by SEE THE SEA having her first run back since May held on in the Seller. ‘She was tough late on and managed to withhold all challengers. She will be winning handicaps very soon.’
There were two sales race on the day and Richard managed to bag second in both. BEAT LE BON was a running on second at Redcar and looks a promising prospect for next year. TIME FOR BED managed to gamely hold second at Newmarket showing signs of improvement.

Todays action comes from Brighton with just the two runners. ST OUEN goes there as the best hope.
