A Geoghegan Double

Mon 04 September 2017

A nice double for Mr Michael Geoghegan at Sandown was had in both divisions of the maiden under Sean Levey and Ryan Moore. The first of those was RUM RUNNER who sat in box seat and made up good ground in the closing stages to win comfortably in the end. ‘He has taken a bit of time but he has shown plenty of improvement with each run. He is a nice colt and will go on from here. The first division was quicker than the second division and he looks to have beat some handy sorts. I will make a decision in the coming weeks as to what we do next.’

The second winner was BATHSHEBA BAY who won under Champion Jockey Ryan Moore. He has been placed on his last three starts and a looks a horse on the improve. ‘He has plenty of scope and will make a nice three year old. He has run in some very nice maidens all year and has run well. He won’t need too many more runs this year.’

At Brighton on Sunday the team brought the winning total for the year to one hundred and fifty with a handy double. GHEPARDO got the team off to a good start and proved very strong in the end. ‘She loved that ground and seems to be learning her trade. She is a nice filly and has always shown plenty of speed.’

The second winner was the consistent PETE SO HIGH. He was always to the fore and kicked in a winning position from two furlongs out. ‘He keeps on pulling out a bit more every time. He is in good order and Silvestre gets on very well with the horse.’

Today’s action is from Windsor and Brighton with some nice chances all day.
