Crystal Malt wins at Lingfield

Mon 23 November 2015

CRYSTAL MALT gained her just reward for a consistent endeavour through the summer when winning a £10,000 fillies handicap at Lingfield on Saturday, coming from off the pace in a steadily run affair to score a well-deserved victory under a fine ride from Kieren O'Neill.

Richard Hannon is being selective with his runners on the all-weather, but he has the one - Kismet Hardy - tomorrow at Chelmsford, where there is more than £140,000 in prize money for the track's richest day.

Of Kismet Hardy, who runs in the opening nursery, Hannon said:"It is his first time on the polytrack, but he is by Mount Nelson, whose progeny have a good record on the all-weather, so we hope he'll have no problems with the surface.

"He made all when winning his maiden at Salisbury last month, and, though that was over six furlongs, he stays this mile well and has been given a fair enough mark (76) for his first nursery."
