Glory Strikes After Long Break

Wed 13 July 2016

WAR GLORY picked up where he left off at Chelmsford on Monday taking the Mile Handicap under Tom Marquand. There was a genuine tempo throughout which set the race up nicely for those horses in behind. He flew home late to finish strongly having been off the track since January. ‘He is a nice horse who has been off the track for a while, so for him to win in good fashion first up was a great result. He looks a progressive type who has plenty more winning to come.’

On the same day at Windsor in the colours of the Calvera Partnership PACO PAT got the job done under a fine ride from apprentice Gary Mahon. ‘These are the same owners as Paco Boy and I am glad that a son of his could be another winner for them.’

With a nice second yesterday for the progressive PAPA LUIGI we look to today at Lingfield and Sandown where there are four runners for the team. LEXINGTON LAW looks one with a nice chance up to the mile and a half in a winnable maiden. ‘He has been running well all year and will appreciate this trip, he should be hard to beat.’ FIELDS OF FORTUNE is a nice Champs Elysees Colt who on paper looks ideally sorted for a seven furlong Maiden. ‘He has been working well at home and I expect him to improve on what ever he does today. I would be happy if he could finish in the first three.’
