Monday Windsor Double

Tue 27 June 2017

Another successful Monday evening at Windsor with the yard coming away with two winners from four runners. The first of those was the filly, FLYING NORTH, owned by Peter Tellwright and ridden by Timmy Murphy. She was always on the front end and travelled beautifully in running. She kicked for home turning the bend and never looked like getting caught. ‘She has run a couple of disappointing races this year, but I think a mixture of a more suitable track and up in trip were exactly what she needed. She won with plenty in hand and is capable of stepping up again.’

The second winner came from WEFAIT. The son of Harbour Watch has been ultra-consistent this year but hasn’t got his head in front since winning on the first day of the season. He was well away and Sean kept him to the fore. He travelled well and picked up nicely in the straight to win convincingly in the end. ‘He is a horse that I think will be even better next year. He is still immature but has managed to win a couple this year. The mile and a half is exactly his trip and I would expect more improvement from him.’

With no runners today the team are settling back down into the swing of things after a good week last week. The next port of call is the Newmarket July Meeting which takes place in a few weeks’ time.
