Day 2 of the Newmarket Craven Meeting and we send 7 horses out, including Watan in the Craven Stakes

MOYASSAR has some solid form from last year and has done well for his winter break. This looks like the ideal starting point and he should be bang there. He is a great horse to deal with at home and will be aimed at some of the bigger sprints during the year.

NAUGHTY RASCAL only ran one bad race last year on soft ground at Newbury. Back on better ground he should be much more competitive having won a nice Conditions race last year. He should be able to run in the first four. I have been happy with his progress over the winter.

YAFTA has been a yard favourite for a long time and he has come back better again this year. He managed to bag a Group 3 last year and I see no reason why he shouldn’t do the same again. The favourite deserves to be there but if he can run up to his form at Newbury last year he should be very competitive.

WATAN has done really well over the winter and has strengthened up in all the right places. He was still a big baby last year and I feel he has matured a lot. This looks the ideal starting point and looking at his run in the Acomb that will give him a solid chance here. He will come on for the run but all being well he can put himself in the Classic possibles.

DOUGHAN ALB has taken a while to come to himself and so I gave him plenty of time last year. He has been working to a good level but he will be in need of the experience. He has done as much as we can at home and so we will learn plenty about him on debut.

BRIAN EPSTEIN is a horse we have always thought plenty of. He has done really well over the winter and has progressed in the right direction. This looks the ideal starting point and he should be very close in the finish. He will improve for the run.

PURBECK HILLS has now got a mark and heads down the handicap route for the first time. This looks a good spot to start. He has been working well at home and so we can send him to the races where he should be doing his best work late on.
