Saturday Preview

Fri 12 March 2021

We are starting to gear up for the fast approaching turf season and are looking forward to our busiest days racing in a while with eight runners on Saturday:

WOLVERHAMPTON

11:45 Handicap
Host (Ryan Moore)

Having raced to freely last time out Host will appreciate this drop back to 7f. He has plenty of course and distance form having won at Wolverhampton on his penultimate start. The favourite looks nice and we have a wide draw to overcome but he should be thereabouts at the line.

12:55 Handicap
Fierospeed (Sean Levey)

This big colt by Zoffany is relatively unexposed having had just the three runs toward the back end of last season. He has wintered well, his work has been good, and he will appreciate the step up in trip over the extended mile. We are hopeful of a bold show, although he is entitled to need it and will come on for the run.

13:30 Novice
Tamyeez (Sean Levey)

Tamyeez is a big filly by Tamarkuz so there has been no rush with her. She has a nice draw and will hopefully run a nice race on her racecourse debut.

14:05 Listed Lady Wulfruna Stakes
Mums Tipple (Ryan Moore)

This is a race we are familiar with having won it last year with Urban Icon. Despite never firing last year we continue to think a lot of Mums Tipple. He was gelded over the winter and has come into this season looking superb. He ran an eye-catching race on his seasonal return at Lingfield last month where he was beaten just 1 ¾ lengths despite not getting any run at all. If he has better luck tomorrow, he stands every chance of bouncing back to his old form.

14:40 Lincoln Trial Handicap
Oh This Is Us (Luke Catton)

This lad needs no introduction! Having not run since November he may need the run but he loves the all-weather and he has a good draw so it would be no surprise to see him run well. He carries top weight, but capable apprentice Luke Catton claims the seven off – good luck to both.

Man Of The Night (Sean Levey)
Man Of The Night has been off since last summer so will undoubtably come on for the run and this is his first foray into all-weather racing but he is a smart colt and a race like this is well within his capabilities, he could put up a bold show.

CHELMSFORD

5:50 Handicap
Theotherside (Rossa Ryan)

She should have come on for her seasonal debut last week so we are hopeful that she can show a bit more this time, but she will have to step up to land a blow against a few of these inform rivals.

18:20 Handicap
Babajan (Rossa Ryan)

Babajan has done well on the all-weather over the winter and still ran well when failing to land the hat-trick at Kempton last month. He remains in good form and is consistent and straightforward. Hopefully he will be thereabouts.
