Tabarrak Brings Home The Treble

Mon 25 September 2017

A Newbury treble was had by the team on Friday including the feature Listed event on the card. In the first race the unraced colt by Declaration Of War was sent off a big price. ORANGE SUIT travelled smoothly through the event and came there strongly to win for Martin Hughes and Michael Kerr-Dineen. 'He has always been a very nice colt. We took our time with him and it looks to have paid off. I always thought he was wanting further but he proved today he has plenty of class. I won't make any big plans yet and just see how he is in the coming weeks.'

ROGUE managed to bag the third event on the cards. The Nursery Handicap looked competitive on paper but he won nicely in the end. 'He was tough today and kept sticking his neck out when he was challenged. He is a horse with plenty of size and he should have no trouble training on next year. He's done well to win twice and should have plenty more in the tank.'

The final winner was TABARRAK who brought home the first and third in the Listed event for Hamdan Al Maktoum. 'He is a horse we have always loved and we have kept him pretty lightly races this year. He travelled sweetly in running and was tough in the closing stages. GEORGE WILLIAM ran an absolute blinder to finish third and has stepped up massively over the year. He appears to be heading in the right direction to bag a bit of black type.'
