Ventura Creates A Storm At Newmarket

Wed 13 April 2016

Ventura Storm & Ryan Moore

The first day at Newmarket brings home a lively winner of the Feildon Stakes in VENTURA STORM, who gets the job done on the first time of asking in 2016. The Middleham Park owned son of Zoffany was settled under Ryan Moore in behind the leader. He relaxed nicely throughout and quickened under a strong drive to get up by a length and a quarter. 'He is a tough individual who keeps pulling out all the stops. We still don't know how good he is, as he continues to find more when asked. He looks a horse who will be ideally suited over a mile and a quarter, which opens up plenty of options for him' commented Richard after the race.

TABARRAK ran second in the seven furlong conditions race, leading till late on in the piece. 'I was very happy with his effort. Only getting pipped at the post. He looks to have trained on, so races like the Jersey will be right up his street.'

Today's action sees TOMILY take his place in the 2yrs Novice Stakes under Tom Marquand. 'He has improved enormously for the run and with Sutter County giving us 9 pounds, he will be very hard to beat. GREAT PAGE is in the Free Handicap and will love the ground. She ran a nice race at Lingfield only getting tired late on in the piece. With the benefit of the run she will be right there In the finish.'
