Yorks May Meeting

Tupi takes his chance later on today in the Listed Gr2 Duke Of York

First day of York today and Richard has two runners heading to the Knavesmire. TUPI will be the first to head to post in the Group 2 Duke Of York. ‘He has been in great form since his win at Doncaster on the opening day of the season. This race has always been the plan and I couldn’t be happier with how he is coming into this event. He was very impressive in his Listed victory and if he can continue on that vain of form he could be in to run a big race. The only problem will be if there is too much rain up there today. The ground is ideal at the moment but if there is anymore, it may just make it a gruelling test.’

The other runner is HARBOUR GREY who also won at Doncaster on her last start.’ She showed plenty of toe to win over six furlongs last time and I always thought this trip would be more desirable for her. She has progressed nicely and looks relatively unexposed in what is an open looking affair. I would be hopeful of a big run from her.’

Just the one runner on the second day in the two mile handicap event in the shape of PARIS PROTOCOL. ‘He ran well on his seasonal reappearance and should improve for the step up to two miles. He is finally coming in his coat and I would be very hopeful of a big run from him with Ryan Moore back in the saddle.’
