On the eve of Glorious Goodwood at Windsor AL BARG managed to win nicely in the Novice Stakes under Sean Levey for Al Shaqab Racing. It is fitting that Qatar are sponsoring the week and that Richard bagged a winner for them to get everyone’s week off to a very good start. The son of Acclamation was well away but travelled a touch keen in the early stages. He eventually relaxed and moved through easily in the final furlong to take up the running and stayed on well up to the line. ‘He ran very well first up and has shown the necessary improvement to win here. He still managed to get a few things wrong and I would expect him to be able to improve again.’
