Boitron Remains Unbeaten

Mon 20 August 2018

The Denford Stud Stakes at Newbury has been won three times in the past by Richard's father, and he managed to get his own name on the trophy this year with the unbeaten BOITRON. The son of Le Havre was having his third racecourse appearance having won two Novices in good style. He was ridden by Champion Jockey Silvestre De Sousa and never looked in danger at any point. He travelled nicely in behind the leader and picked up really well under pressure up to the line. ‘I was very impressed with the manner he went about it today and he looks a proper colt going forward. He did everything nice and easily there and will continue to progress. We haven’t got any set plans yet for him but we will sit down and chat with Tim Palin and come up with a few ideas.’

The second winner on the day came at Newmarket where STAR TERMS continued in winning ways. The daughter of Sea The Stars lead from start to finish and powered home close to the line. ‘We have always liked this filly and we know the family very well having trained the mother Best Terms. She can go on from here and the plan will be to find some black type for her. She does everything we ask of her and looks a progressive sort.’

Todays action comes from Windsor, Leicester and Thirsk with the Queens colt TOPICAL starting affairs.
