DICK TRACY ROBS A WIN AT KEMPTON

Wed 02 November 2016

Two winners in the last two days, both breaking their maidens and two nice horses for next year. The first of those was the son of Lawman, DICK TRACY, who finally got off the mark after a string of placed efforts. Sean had him settled on the front end and he went around with his ears pricked, and when he got challenged he looked to hold on nicely up to the line. ‘He is so laid back and seems to look like he wants further, however dropping him back to seven furlongs, on a sound surface has been the key and he was tough late, showing plenty of dash. He is a horse I will put away for next year and hopefully he will improve over the winter.’

BLACK BOLT the latter of the two winners, came yesterday. The enormous son of CAPE CROSS travelled nicely throughout and picked up well towards the line, winning in very convincing fashion. ‘He needed that run badly at Newbury but I couldn’t be happier with the way he won there today. He has shown plenty of improvement and judging by the size of him, he could be a very nice horse next year. I will put him away now and bring him back for the spring.’

Today's action is from Kempton again and Richard has two runners, HIMSELF in the nursery and ROYAL PEACE in the maiden.
