Flying North Gets A Win On The Board

Flying North

It was thrilling to see one of the most promising 2YO fillies in the yard, FLYING NORTH stride home to victory to break her maiden at Ascot on Saturday. She really let down well and it wouldn’t be surprising if we saw her in a very smart race in the future, “She is a lovely, big filly with a nice race career ahead of her. The plan is still vague but she has a stack of ability and the options are endless.” Richard Hannon Snr.

After resuming her racing career in August at Newbury for breeder and owner Peter Tellwright, Flying North has just been getting better and better and it took her only three runs to really flourish and find her feet. The filly had this race mapped out from the get go and Timmy Murphy rode her like she was the best horse in the field of eight starters.

By precocious 2YO & Champion 3YO miler RAVEN’S PASS, who was victorious in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot over the mile, out of a middle distance winning CAPE CROSS mare, this filly has the pedigree behind her and she will only get better with age and more racing. We haven’t seen the best of her yet.

With another busy week ahead leading into a Group 1 card at Doncaster and Curragh on the weekend, it’s full steam ahead and the team looks to be in great form. Stay tuned.
