QATAR GOODWOOD FESTIVAL – TUESDAY

2:25 G2 Qatar Vintage Stakes
Mystery Power (Silvestre de Sousa)
Dad won this five times including with the likes of Toormore, Olympic Glory and of course dual Guineas winner Don’t Forget Me in 1986 so it’s a race we’ve had plenty of luck in and hopefully it will continue. This colt is clearly very smart and I thought his win in the Superlative was quite impressive. Obviously we went there expecting him to run well but were by no means confident that he’d end up doing what he did so it was a nice surprise and hopefully the progression can continue. He’s got a G2 penalty to carry but I don’t see that being a problem and he arrives there in great shape after doing a really nice piece of work on Saturday. Any ground will suit and he’ll have no problem with the track therefore I see no reason at all why he can’t be bang there.

4:10 Maiden
Cheat (Pat Dobbs)
We pulled him out of Newbury last week because of the ground so I’m hoping there isn’t too much rain around on Tuesday. This horse’s work has been good and he ran creditably on debut at Doncaster when he would have badly needed it. This is a decent Maiden and I think we have some good chances elsewhere, too, but he’ll definitely be sharper this time.

Good Job Power (Silvestre de Sousa)
In was pleased with his first run at Haydock and we’ve done very little with him gallop-wise since then. That was a decent introduction and I’ve been happy with him since. The good ground will suit and I think he has a very good chance in this.

Written Broadcast (Andrea Atzeni)
He was unlucky to get chinned on the line at Newbury last time after a very good effort when third on debut at Doncaster. Those two runs will have given him valuable experience and I’m hoping it’s a case of third time lucky for him in this. On what he’s shown so far, he’d have to be win material.

5:15 Unibet Fillies’ Handicap
Al Messila (David Egan)
It took her a while to get her head in front but she finally got the job done at Leicester and followed up with a gritty win at Nottingham last time and she’s currently thriving. The handicapper put her up to 82 and she seems to be progressing so I hope there is still room for manoeuvre off here new mark and I love her attitude. Good ground suits her well and I expect a good performance.

Don't forget to check out @unibetracing for the rest of my runners this week!
