Wednesday saw one of our battle-hardened campaigners claim his first victory at Lingfield, as KEEP RIGHT ON saw off plenty of challengers in the home straight to win by a head under a driving Sean Levey. One Matt Chapman of At The Races called it ‘Ride of the season, possibly ride of the century’, a testament to one of our star stable jockeys.
This son of Acclamation has been running very consistently of late and it was clear that a big run was just around the corner, but the manner of this victory is even more impressive, as he made up good ground at the start from a wide draw, before travelling three-wide into the bend. To then finish off the race so well with horses either side of him shows how much he has progressed from earlier in the season.
It will be a delight for owners Middleham Park Racing XL, who have persisted with him and given him every opportunity to succeed. Hopefully now we can get him on a roll and land a few more similar contests in the not-too-distant future.
