LOOKING AHEAD TO GOODWOOD

Mon 29 July 2019

With the yard in good form its all systems go towards this week’s Qatar Goodwood Festival, during where we will unleash some especially exciting types going forward.

We start off the meeting with a strong hand in Tuesday’s Qatar Vintage Stakes (Group 2) where MYSTERY POWER, a recent winner of the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket’s July meeting will take his chance .

FLOATING ARTIST could take his chance in the Gordon Stakes (Group 3) over a mile and a half on Thursday. A winner at Ascot earlier this month, Floating Artist who holds an entry for the St Leger, is a horse we rate highly and should develop into a nice middle-distance type.

THREAT, following up from his promising second in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, will likely head to the Richmond Stakes (Group 2)

Friday could see the return of 1000 Guineas winner BILLESDON BROOK in the Oak Tree Stakes (Group 3) back over seven furlongs, a distance she has already won over this season at Chelmsford. BEAT LE BON and MASARU are both set for the Golden Mile Handicap. BEAT LE BON is going for a hattrick of wins following successes at Haydock and Goodwood whilst MASARU returns to handicap company after contesting in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
We have a two pronged attack on the Stewards Cup on Saturday with BURIDAN and EMBOUR both hoping to get in off low weights. It is also likely that smart two-year-old MANIGORDO will make an appearance, a horse we are excited about.

FOX CHAMPION finished third in his latest run in the Prix Jean Prat and could skip Goodwood and instead return to France for the Prix Maurice De Gheest on the 4th August.
