Shouldvebeenaring

ROYAL ASCOT – FRIDAY

3:05 G1 Commonwealth Cup

Shouldvebeenaring (Sean Levey)

He is an extremely likeable colt who has proven he’s trained on from two to three with some great efforts this season, including winning at Newmarket last month. I was very pleased with his run in the Sandy Lane behind Little Big Bear where he kept on nicely and a reproduction of that would see him bang there. He’s a rock solid horse and is sure to give his running.

4:20 G1 Coronation Stakes

Mammas Girl (Kevin Stott)

She was undoubtedly a little disappointing in the 1000 Guineas, but the ground was very soft that day and she couldn’t pick up on it, but she’s much better than that and I think it would be foolish to rule her out on the back of just one poor run. It’s a decent race, yes, but she’s a smart filly and looks very good each way value with Unibet at 16/1.

5:00 Sandringham Stakes

Magical Sunset (Kevin Stott)

She has really turned a corner over the last couple of weeks, now the weather has picked up, and she looks fantastic in her coat. I was delighted with her run at Epsom last time where she finished the race well, so the step up to a mile should suit and she could be quite interesting in her first Handicap.

Rich (Sam Hitchcott)
She has been a little bit disappointing since an encouraging seasonal debut on the All Weather at Kempton in April, but I think much of that is down to the trip because she doesn’t look to stay a mile and a quarter, so we’re dropping her back in distance and hopefully she can run a nice race, but she does have something to prove at present.

6:10 Palace Of Holyrood House Stakes

The Big Board (Oisin Murphy)
It was a pleasant surprise to see her win at Leicester last time because she wasn’t quite ready, so there should definitely be a bit more improvement in her fitness-wise. The Handicapper hasn’t been too harsh either and she’s a very consistent filly. The drop back to five won’t be an issue at all and we’ll make plenty of use of her.
