Saturday's Runners Including The G1 Sun Chariot Stakes

Heredia

NEWMARKET

2:05

Commander Crouch (Shane Kelly)

He’s tough and consistent and I was pleased with his run at Newbury last time. The drop back to six won't be a problem and he goes on any ground.

3:15 G1 Sun Chariot Stakes

Heredia (Sean Levey)

She’s always been a very high class filly and proved that with a decisive win in the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown last time. This is obviously another step up, but she seems to have improved again for the step up to a mile and I can’t see any reason why she won’t go very well in a race we’ve won with the likes of Billesdon Brook and Sky Lantern.

3:50

Dark Viper (Sean Levey)

He’s run with promise on both starts and should be suited by the step up to a mile but might be a more realistic betting proposition once handicapped.

Ardara Rose (Tom Greatrex)
She ran very green on debut at Kempton, but has come on a lot for it, and while she’ll be better in Handicaps, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her put up a better performance here.

4:25

Christian David (Tom Greatrex)

He’s a smart colt by Profitable who shaped with promise on his first run but just got tired in the closing stages. He’ll strip fitter for that, physically and mentally, and should run an encouraging race.

ASCOT

3:00 G3 Bengough Stakes

Happy Romance (Pat Dobbs)

She didn’t disgrace herself in the Foret last week but will be more at home back down in grade, and this could quite possibly be her last run, so it would be great if she could go out with a bang. Her form is there for all to see; all I can say is that she came back from France in good form and has done very little at home since.

REDCAR

1:40

Detroit Lion (Hollie Doyle)

He ran ok on his first start at Newbury last time but, understandably, finished very tired on the heavy ground. The quicker surface at Redcar will help and he has sharpened up quite a lot at home so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him figure prominently.

2:10

Al Hargah (Hollie Doyle)

She was a little bit disappointing, on soft, at Sandown last time but had some good form prior to that on decent ground, which is what she’s going to get up there. A mile and a quarter is her trip and she has a solid chance with ideal underfoot conditions.

2:45

Love Billy Boy (Tom Eaves)

He wasn’t that far behind Dragon Leader at York, and he’s odds on favourite and we’re around 18/1 so there’s no doubt he’s a decent each way price! A fast pace will suit him and he worked well in blinkers the other day. I don’t think he’s out of it by any means.

3:20

Speeding Bullet (Hollie Doyle)

He ran very well behind stablemate Blue Lemons at Leicester, the form of which looks pretty solid, and he’s more than capable of picking up a race of this nature.

WOLVERHAMPTON

We’ve got two runners at Wolverhampton in the 7:30.
Bosh was a little bit unlucky not to finish closer over course and distance last time and could be nicely weighted under Alec Voikhansky who has a decent draw in three. Minnetonka, drawn next door in four, has been in really good form of late and takes a step down in grade off the back of a very good effort at Newmarket last time.
