Sighter Takes Us To Win 1,600

Wed 21 February 2024

Sighter and Alec at Chelmsford

Sighter made her handicap debut a winning one, under Alec Voikhansky at Chelmsford on Thursday. She jumped well, and was prominent from an early stage, running a little free for the first couple of furlongs but Alec settled her in well to take up a nice position on the rail. She made good headway coming off the bend, and took the lead inside the final furlong, staying on well and winning nicely by 3/4 of a length to Crocus Time who also ran a nice race in second under Joe Leavy.

This win was another milestone reached for Richard in his training career, marking 1600 winners in just 10 years of training. This makes an average of 160 winners per year, something that is not achieved by many and is a testament to the hard work of the whole team and support of our loyal owners.
