SUNDAY

ASCOT

12:45 Handicap
Wild Thunder (Pat Dobbs)

We expected him to need his first run back at Haydock and so it proved, therefore he’ll be much sharper this time round and we’re putting blinkers on and going up in trip, both of which will hopefully help him here. It’s a tight little race but he was a smart two year old and I expect him to put up a better show than last time.

Hot Summer (Sean Levey)
He won in good style at Windsor last time where he finished his race really well which suggests the step up to a mile and a quarter will really play to his strengths and he has been in excellent form at home. He’s got a lovely attitude, will go on the ground and I think he’s got a great chance.

3:05 G3 Fillies’ Stakes
Billesdon Brook (Sean Levey)

She proved she’s still at the very top of her game when almost winning the G1 Falmouth last time and on that run the drop back down to G3 Company is an obvious plus. There’s not much else I can say that you don’t all know yourself, so with a bit of luck she’ll run another huge race and add to her already glittering CV.

4:15 Handicap
War Glory (Thore Hammer Hansen)

He’s been a real star down the years and owes his owner absolutely nothing, but he still retains plenty of ability and tends to do most of his winning over seven furlongs. I’ve been happy with him at home and see no reason why he can’t run a big race

Sun Power (Silvestre De Sousa)
He can often race a little bit free so we’re putting the hood on for the first time and Sylvester will try and get him to relax because on his homework I still believe there’s a decent prize to be won with him. The drop back to seven furlongs is a big plus as I don’t think he was really seeing out a mile.

Ziggle Pops (Sean Levey)
A fast run 7 furlongs is just what he wants and this should obviously be a lot easier than the Britannia he contested last time. I think fast ground is key to him and he should get that here so I’d be reasonably hopeful.

4:50 Handicap
Ajax Tavern (Pat Dobbs)

He’s had his issues but on his day he’s very good and I was delighted with the way he ran at Doncaster last month. I’ve been happy with his work at home and he has a great chance here.

Sea Voice (Rossa Ryan)
He was too keen at Newbury on his first run back last time but that would’ve done him the world of good and blown the cobwebs away. Any rain is a big plus and if the heavens do open, he’ll relish it and put up a bold show.

Tuesday sees the start of the Qatar Goodwood Festival and we should have plenty of runners throughout the week including the likes of Watan, Beat Le Bon, Mafia Power and Mambo Nights plus some nice two year olds so be sure to follow @RhannonRacing and @Unibetracing for my thoughts on our chances over the five day fixture.
