DONCASTER – THURSDAY

2:40 G2 Park Hill Stakes
Star Terms (Andrea Atzeni)
She’s had two runs at Doncaster and finished second on each occasion, including in the May Hill last year, so definitely deserves to win one around here and I have no doubt she has the class to go very close in a race like this. There’s not much of her but she has a massive heart and plenty of ability and she’s unlucky not to have won a group race by now. The step up to 1m6f won’t be a problem and while she may be vulnerable to an unexposed improver, her form is there for all to see and I certainly wouldn’t put you off having a few quid on at 12/1 with Unibet.

3:15 Weatherbys 2-y-o Stakes
Ziggle Pops (Sean Levey)
He finally got the job done at Brighton last time and did it in good style, too. That will have done his confidence a lot of good and a race of this nature will really suit him. On ratings he’s got to improve a bit but he’s in fine form and has solid each way claims.

Manigordo (Pat Dobbs)
I really like this colt and think he has an awful amount of ability. He was unlucky not to win at Ascot last time in a race that has worked out well but we’ve freshened him up and he put in a very good piece of work on Saturday. He’s a big strong son of Kitten’s Joy who has a bright future and I’m very hopeful he can go extremely close here.

D Day (Tom Marquand)
He was an impressive winner at Newbury two starts ago and then lost his race at the start at Kempton last time when the hood seem to put him to sleep so we’ve done plenty of stalls practice and he’ll be much sharper now. Any give in the ground will aid his cause and he has a decent chance of finishing in the money.

3:45 G2 May Hill Stakes
Cloak Of Spirits (Andrea Atzeni)
We fancied her to run well at Ascot on debut but didn’t quite expect her to do it the way she did so we very quickly knew we had a good filly on our hands. This race has been the plan ever since and hopefully we can go on to the G1 Fillies’ Mile after this. Obviously it’s a good race but she’s a good filly and I’m really excited to see how far she can go.

4:55 Handicap
Leroy Leroy (Hollie Doyle)
He has a lot of talent and has already won at the track, over a mile, at last year’s Leger meeting but I think 1m2f on decent ground is what he wants and you can ignore his latest run as he did much too much and didn’t get home on the soft ground. Hollie rides him plenty at home and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him run a big race for Middleham Park Racing.
