York Review

Mon 02 September 2019

A brilliant few days at York. Mums Tipple won the Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes impressively. A breath-taking eleven length winning margin was a huge thrill to witness and really exciting for the whole yard and his owners.

Friday saw Threat get back to winning ways in the Gimcrack Stakes (G2) with a solid performance under a confident ride from Oisin Murphy. Both horses look to have huge potential and it’s especially exciting going into their Classic year.

Later in the week Dark Lady put in a good performance at Goodwood to finish a close second in the Prestige Stakes (G3) and Raymond Tusk ran on to finish a solid fourth in the Ebor Handicap.

It looks likely that Raymond Tusk will now venture down to the Southern Hemisphere for a tilt at The Melbourne Cup. He’s likely to be joined by Beat Le Bon who will head to Sydney for the inaugural running of The Golden Eagle worth $7.5 million. They will be our first runners in Australia and it will be interesting to see how both horses fare.
