YORK – THURSDAY
2:25 Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes
System (Pat Dobbs)
She showed a great attitude to win a Listed race on the July course on her penultimate start and then was arguably unlucky in a G3 at Ascot last time when getting no run whatsoever at a crucial stage. That is still very strong form, however, and she looks an ideal filly for a race like this because she has enough experience, has a great mind and a touch of class to go with it. There’s no doubt it’s a competitive event but she goes there with a very strong chance.
Oh Herberts Reign (Ryan Moore)
I suppose his form behind Asymmetric at Newmarket looks pretty decent now and he seems to be getting better with each run. He ran great race at Newbury last time over seven but I think the drop back to six, and a decent pace, will really help and he represents very good each way value under Ryan Moore.
Symphony Perfect (Rossa Ryan)
She’s a very tough filly who has been extremely consistent all the way through and a reproduction of her excellent second in the Super Sprint will give her every chance here. She didn’t run up to her best at Newmarket last time but we’ve freshened her up at home and she’s not without hope in this. She’s got a lot of speed so the quicker the ground the better.
Three Dons (David Egan)
He’s yet to win a race and in all probability I doubt he’s likely to break his maiden tag here, but it’s a very valuable prize and hopefully with some luck in running he can put up a decent performance and maybe pick up some place prize money.
Desert Angel (Sam Hitchcott)
To be honest I’m surprised he’s yet to win a race because he’s really improved plenty at home and seems to be getting better, but unfortunately things haven’t gone his way, notably at Newmarket last time when he ripped a shoe off, but whether that was the difference between winning and losing I wouldn’t be entirely sure. However he’s got plenty of ability and with some luck in running he could easily go very well under Sam Hitchcott who rides him a lot at home.
Tropez Power (Silvestre De Sousa)
He was very disappointing at Goodwood last time so is on something of a retrieval mission, but he’s much better than that and I think the step up a furlong should help therefore I wouldn’t entirely rule him out off the back of just one poor effort.
