Our apprentice Alec Voikhansky brought in a great double for us at Lingfield on Saturday, even making it a treble for himself on the night.
Our first winner of the evening was Zabbie who stayed on strongly and got her head back in front again for her owner-breeder Robin Blunt & Jonathan Palmer-Brown. This was the second career win for the three-year-old daughter of Poet’s Word.
Major Major was next, breaking his maiden in great style for owners David Bannon & Partner. He found the perfect gap to race through to the front and stayed on well all the way to the line. This three-year-old gelding is by Iffraaj and was bought by Peter & Ross Doyle at Tattersalls Book 1.
Both were brilliant rides from Alec, who keeps delivering time and time again inching ever closer to losing his 5lbs claim.
These wins on the weekend rounded up a great albeit very rainy week of racing. We enjoyed two fantastic wins at Glorious Goodwood with Haatem & Magical Sunset, as well as a valiant 3rd from Dapper Valley and further placings elsewhere.
