Ziggy's Phoenix
BEVERLEY
2:05 (Hilary Needler Stakes)
Ziggy’s Phoenix (Kevin Stott)
She wasn’t disgraced in a Listed race in France last time, where she showed plenty of pace early on, so a speed track like Beverley will really suit, and while we’re backing her up pretty quickly, she’s a tough filly with a good attitude and we’ve done nothing with her at home all week. Stall four should be ok.
3:15
Fusterlandia (Kevin Stott)
He did everything right except win on his debut, but will have learnt plenty from that, and the drop down to five (furlongs) is a big plus because he showed a lot of pace at Leicester and he’s drawn well in gate one.
LINGFIELD
5:35
Stamford Blue (Thomas Greatrex)
It’s his first run since January, so he’s entitled to come on for it, but needs to step up on what he’s shown so far and I certainly wouldn’t say he’s a viable betting proposition at this stage.
6:40
Pretty Peg (Sean Levey)
She’s a nicely bred filly who’s taken a while to come to herself but has been showing up well at home and is ready for a run. There are quite a few runners but it doesn’t look the greatest of races and she could run a nice race on debut.
8:45
Al Hargah (Sean Levey)
Contrary to what her form suggests, she’s actually got some ability but is not entirely putting all the effort in so we’re putting a set of blinkers on to try and make her concentrate and she’s coming down the weights.
