Blue Lemons made a winning debut this week for owners Sullivan Bloodstock Ltd & Merrriebelle Irish Farm Ltd.
The son of leading first season sire Blue Point made his first racecourse appearance at Leicester under jockey Sean Levey. He sat in a prominent position until the field split across the track. He quickened nicely on the outside in the rain softened ground to get his head in front in the closing stages.
He was purchased from Tattersalls Book 1 by Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock, meaning he picked up an extra £20,000 Book 1 bonus.
We’ve had to be patient with this colt and so it was nice to see him reward his owners for their time. He will no doubt come on for the experience and improve again with time. He looks to have a promising three old career ahead of him.
