Chester Racecourse
CHESTER – WEDNESDAY
1:30
Ziggy’s Phoenix (Ryan Moore)
She won very easily at Ripon on soft ground on her second start, after which we thought this would be the ideal race. She’s a filly with lots of pace and Ryan will make plenty of use of her from the plum draw in one. The ground will be fine (won on soft latest) and I expect a very bold show.
3:45
Royal Dress (Ryan Moore)
I was impressed with her at Doncaster last time on her first run back on soft ground and to be honest I think there will be a little bit of improvement fitness-wise. This is her first handicap and I’m hopeful there could be more to come off a mark of 80. Her work has been good and she’s getting better with racing.
CHESTER – THURSDAY
3:45
Thunder Max (Kevin Stott)
Everything went wrong on his comeback at Haydock last month, but he ran very well under the circumstances and we’re putting the blinkers on to sharpen him up; primarily because this is a tight track and you can’t afford to lose any ground, so hopefully he’ll travel better with the headgear. Stall nine isn’t ideal, and I wouldn’t want the ground to go soft, but he’s in very good form and if he gets more luck than last time he won’t be far away.
4:20
The Camden Colt (Ryan Moore)
He’s a nice colt by Footstepsinthesand who has shown plenty in his work to take his chance at a track like this and stall one is an obvious positive. We’ve got him entered in all the big two-year-old races and we like him a lot, so hopefully he can put up a good show – but he will come on for the run.
