DONCASTER – THURSDAY

1:40 Fillies’ Nursery
Ma Cherie Amour (Sam Hitchcott)

She’s been sent off big prices on all three starts but has shaped with more than enough promise to suggest she’s more than capable of picking up a race of two, but this does look a very tough affair so if she can run well and finish in the money I’ll be delighted.

2:40 Weatherbys Sales Race
Collinsbay (Pat Dobbs)

He was unlucky not to win at Ascot last time where he got headed right on the line giving 6lbs to the eventual winner and I’m not convinced he truly stayed the trip that day, too, so the drop back down a furlong will really suit and he’s been given a nice break since then. I see no ground issues and think he has a fantastic chance in what is a wide open race.

3:45 Handicap
Lexington Dash (Pat Dobbs)

He’s been in generally good form all season and always runs his race but the ground would be a big concern if it turns up soft because he’s a proper top of the ground horse. The Handicapper has dropped him a few pounds, although he’s still quite high in the weights so will need to be at his very best, but this is a competitive race where you can make a case of plenty of them so hopefully with a bit of luck he can go well at decent odds.

Ziggle Pops (Rossa Ryan)
He’s not the most consistent but is a horse with plenty of ability and this is his trip. The ground won’t be a problem and I thought he worked particularly well on Friday. He’s a big price but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him finish well and earn some place money.
