2:00 G1 Dewhurst Stakes
Haatem (Sean Levey)
I thought he ran better (in the Mill Reef) than the form figure suggests because it was a blanket finish and the form of that race could be pretty strong, bearing in mind connections have supplemented the winner, Array for this, so they clearly think he’s pretty smart and our colt has rock solid form at this trip.
City Of Troy could end up a superstar, and will be incredibly hard to beat, but this is horse racing, and they don’t win races stood in their box!

The Camden Colt (Sean Levey)
I don’t think he quite saw out the trip at Newmarket last time, so the drop back to seven will suit and he’s a very tough colt with a lovely attitude. This is a small step back up in grade but he’s a talented horse with lots of experience and goes well on the ground.
Mr Baloo (Pat Dobbs)
He comes here off the back of two decisive wins, and is in the form of his life, but the Handicapper has reacted accordingly and he’s now up to a career high mark of 80. He’s in great shape at home, though, and will bounce off the ground.
Commander Crouch (Shane Kelly)
Another 100 yards and I think he may have got up at Newmarket last week, so the step back up to seven is definitely in his favour, and he is a colt who handles his racing well. He’s only done a few steady canters during the week so arrives here fresh and happy.

Minnetonka (Sean Levey)
She’s hit the crossbar on her last three starts, so deserves to get her head back in front, but this does look a tough task stepping back up in grade. That said, a stiff six will really suit and in her current form, you couldn’t rule her out running a big race.
