GOODWOOD – TUESDAY

2:15

A La Noche (Sean Levey)
He’s a nicely bred colt by Lope De Vega who has been showing up nicely in his work and is ready to go. This looks a hot Maiden, and he will definitely come on for the run, but he’s no slouch and will hopefully make his presence felt.

3:25 G2 Vintage Stakes

Haatem (Sean Levey)
He’s getting better each day and I was delighted with his run in the Superlative where he clearly appreciated the step up in trip, but unfortunately bumped into a very special horse in City Of Troy. I wouldn’t be afraid to make the running if we have to and he should be taken very seriously.

Son (Pat Dobbs)
We’ve always liked him and things didn’t entirely go his way at Newmarket last time where he might’ve finished a bit closer. He’s got a nice turn of foot so a track like this will suit and he could go well at a decent price with Unibet.

5:05

System (James Doyle)

She picked up an injury after York last August, so has been off for almost a year, but her work has been as good as ever and she retains all her ability. I wouldn’t say she’d want the ground too soft, so I’ll be keeping an eye on conditions, but I’m very happy with her at home and think she has a very good chance.

Royal Dress (Pat Dobbs)
Unlike System, this filly loves soft ground so hopefully we’ve got both angles covered! I was very pleased with her win (on Heavy) at Haydock last time, for which she got put up 6lbs, but she’s run well at this track before and could improve for the step up to a mile.

5:35

Minnetonka (Jamie Spencer)

She’s a talented filly but hasn’t really been firing on all cylinders and finishing her races, so Jamie will try and be patient and allow her to get into a nice rhythm. The ability is there and if she gets some luck, she could be interesting off her mark.

Don't forget to check out Unibet for all my racing blogs throughout the season!
