Goodwood Day 2

GOODWOOD – WEDNESDAY

2:15 Unibet 3 Boosts A Day Handicap
Mambo Nights (Andrea Atzeni)

He backed up his easy Sandown success with an impressive victory (when upped to 1m4f) at Ripon last time and he’s a horse very much on an upward curve. Andrea was able to dictate from the front on that occasion but he might have some opposition on his hands this time as there looks to be plenty of pace with a couple of Mark Johnston runners in the race so if we have to take a lead, we will do because he’s a very relaxed colt and with expected improvement, I think he has a fantastic chance.

4:20 Handicap
Magical Wish (Thore Hammer-Hansen)

He ran a much better race last time than his form figure suggests as he travelled supremely well and was pretty much last off the bridle but had absolutely nowhere to go and Dane had to just sit and suffer so I’m ‘happy’ to draw a line through that and we’re taking some weight off his back with Thore’s valuable 3lbs claim. It’s a tough handicap but he has a high cruising speed so the track will suit and I’d be reasonably confident of a bold show.

Buridan (Sean Levey)
He’s got a lot of speed and is very enthusiastic in his races but has plenty of talent and is quite versatile ground-wise. All of his wins have come over 6f but he’s extremely lightly-raced at this trip and the tight track will also help him.

We’ll have lots more runners towards the end of the week including the likes of Mafia Power, Oh This Is Us, Mark Of The Man and Watan has a few options plus we have some very smart two-year-olds to unleash too!
