Tashaar & Tony Curtis
TONY CURTIS was the first of Saturday's runners at Doha in what looked a truly run test in the Al Biddah Laffan Mile. Sean was tight for room early on in the race and had to wait for a gap turning for home. He stayed on well to finish fourth beaten 2 3/4 lengths. Richard commented 'Being such a big horse, I think he struggled with the tight turning track. We will get him home and assess our options. But he is a nice horse to look forward to this year'
The feature race of the afternoon saw TASHAAR take his place. He was handy throughout and looked comfortable enough in running. Turning for home he picked up for a 100m and then dropped away tamely. Richard said 'I think he ran well in what looked a competitive race but he failed to see out the trip. He was still there at the furlong but couldn't get the last 200m. We will get him home where there are plenty of options for him.'
The Qatar Team all ran competitive races without getting their heads in front. With only a month to go before the turf starts back in England, the team is preparing for what we hope will be a very successful 2016.
