Happy Romance completes the hat-trick

HAPPY ROMANCE has been a superstar for the yard this season and she just keeps on giving. Having won two big sales races in emphatic style it was brilliant to see her go on to win the Dick Poole Group 3 Fillies Stakes at Salisbury this afternoon. She thoroughly deserved to get some black type and this should be the start of bigger and even better things.

Ridden once again by regular partner Sean Levey she was held up towards the rear of the field and having made good headway two furlongs out she put the race to bed in a matter of strides to win comfortably by 3/4 of a length. This run really proved that she is a top class filly that can handle any ground - class always shows.

Richard said "She has been an amazing filly all year and has done that very well. By Sean’s own admission he thinks he got there a little too soon as she picks up so quick. She is very quick and very good. She will have no problem going further and she will get it, as she has no problems relaxing. The owners have had a ball, but they’ve not come into the winner’s enclosure once the poor people. I took her out of Goodwood (last weekend) because of the ground, as she was going a furlong further there This was a nice spot for her just up the road and she has won very well.”

In term of where we will go next with this tough filly by Dandy Man Richard said “We will probably go straight for the Cheveley Park now. She is a proper filly. She has won the money and she has now won the black type. They are having a ball.”

It really is a wonderful story and what racing is all about - a low budget filly with a big heart and a great character that makes us all HAPPY!
