PRINCLEY RULES ON SEASONAL REAPPERANCE

Tue 31 July 2018

A successful weekend and a winner on Monday night starts the week of Glorious Goodwood in good shape.

PRINCELY was having just his second racecourse appearance as a three year old and duly bolted up at Salisbury. HE’ZANARAB never looked in danger of rivals at York and GOOD LUCK FOX got the job done convincingly at Windsor.

The son of Compton Place owned by Julie Wood travelled up smoothly in running inside the final quarter mile and won impressively. ‘Princely has done that easily and will improve plenty for the experience. He travelled up easily and never looked like getting caught. He probably needs to head for another Novice with a penalty next time.’
He’Zanarab had an easy time of things in front but kicked well clear when asked and seems to be getting better. ‘Douglas made it up there for the day and he was duly rewarded. He keeps on improving and has now won two of his three starts. We will sit down and come up with a few ideas going forward.’

Monday saw Good Luck Fox win with plenty in hand under Tom Marquand for King Power Racing. He was always close up and stuck on gamely when asked to quicken. ‘He didn’t scope great after his last run but I feel he will now continue to improve. He is a nice colt and did that with plenty of ease.’
