Happy Romance

2:30 Listed Chesham Stakes
Dark Thirty (Sean Levey)

He showed a very good attitude to win on debut at Newbury in a race that has worked out very well because the second and third have both come out and won since. Thie step up to seven will suit and I’m hopeful he can put up a decent show in what looks a very suitable race.

3:05 G3 Jersey Stakes
Tacarib Bay (Sean Levey)

He’s a colt we’ve always thought a great deal of and there’s definitely some very nice races in him. This is obviously a big step down from the 2000 Guineas and we’re dropping back a furlong, too. We took him to Kempton to work with Lusail and Mojo Star, and both of them have finished second this week, so the ‘form’ is pretty good and he should run well. If there’s any rain around, that would help his chances further.

4:20 G1 Platinum Jubilee
Happy Romance (Sean Levey)

We were going to run her at York but she picked up a silly little injury just before which meant we had to skip that but in hindsight it might’ve been a blessing because she’s had a nice break after two excellent runs in Saudi and Dubai. She’s pretty versatile ground wise, has been in great form at home and I think she comes into this with a very good chance. She’s around 16/1 which to me looks massive and I certainly wouldn’t put anybody off backing her each way.

5:00 Wokingham
Ventura Tormenta (Sean Levey)

He’s been off for almost two years but was a very good juvenile and on his homework I still believe he has retained all of his ability. This is obviously a big ask on his first run but he’s been away several times so is as straight as we can get him without actual match practice but he’s a big burly colt so will definitely improve for the run. It’s his first run in a Handicap and it’ll be interesting to see how well treated he is off a mark of 100.Unibet 15 To Go is available on this race

NEWMARKET

1:32 Indian Renegade (Pat Dobbs)
He ran very green on debut at Goodwood but has come on leaps and bounds for that and I think the extra furlong here will also help. He’s a nice moving horse so won’t mind the ground or the track and I’m hopeful he can put another step forward.

3:17 Reverend Hubert (Pat Dobbs)
He’s been in great form this season, winning both his starts, so he’s clearly in the form of his life and comes into this with a very serious chance. The Handicapper has put him up to 86 which means he’s off a career-high mark but the drop back in trip won’t be an issue and we’ll make plenty of use of him

3:52Robjon (Pat Dobbs)
He hasn’t won since his racecourse debut but has run some nice races since and is gradually coming down to a workable mark. On his most recent run at Goodwood you couldn’t be overly confident but he does have ability and it’s just a case of him putting his best foot forward.
